Can't get past Nova Fora!! Ich spreche English. Help bitte.

Hallo,

I beat Nova Fora and the game said loading for a second and then went back to the menu. WTF! I am trying to get to Barbarossa's Throne so I can advance and play all the other campaigns. Can someone please email me a saved game of the beginning of Barbaross's Throne. From there I will play it out. I play the US version of the game.

Danke

P.S. My computer is fine and the game loaded good.

Hi Tanner,

so did you finsh Nova Fora I and sail all the way to the corner of the map? With 4 swordfighters, 4 bowsmen and a scout? Your cargoholds should be filled with at least 100 tons of tools, 50 tons of food, however it's better to take more supplies.
Then Nova Fora I will end and the ships will automatically reappear in Nova Fora II, or Barabarossas Throne, together with all on board.
And the game will continue right away.
  ....Gruß ,Robbie

You could upload your saved game (zip file) over here, using "Dateianhänge".
I will take a look at it.

I don't have a Nova Fora save, but can play (repair) yours and give it back.

Send me "Lastgame.sav", or send the newest savegame as a zip file.

Hi Tanner,

what makes me wonder: the next level does not "load", as soon as your three ships have reached the corner of the map Nova Fora I will be over and the narrator will tell the story of Barbarossa's throne. After the story has been told you will find your ships again in a new map.
I suggest you go back to Nova Fora I, sail your ships to the far west and tell us exactly what happans...
  ....Gruß ,Robbie

Robbie, it seems to be a bug in US version 1.05, dobber gave up helping this users at ubisoft forums, he now sends own savegames.

It could be a technical problem with Tanners Pc, graphic card drivers, or his pagefile.sys, too. This Savegame will work for him.

Saved Games

I have no idea where my games are being saved to. There is no /saved games folder in the ANNO 1503 folder. In fact there are no files, named after what I saved them as, anywhere on my computer. Does the US version wrap all the saved games together in a div or something?

Here's another question, unrelated to the Nova Fora. Why am a running a 100 gold coin profit and my balance is not going up? It is just stagnant.

RE: Saved Games

I really liked 1602, but 1503 has too many glitches. I can't even make money! Or get past the first campaign!

There are two different balances in this game.

You will see the bilance of your city by clicking on your markethouses, you will see your complete bilance of all cities, including ships and military, by clicking on the questionmark.

An other question: Are you using Vista?

RE: Saved Games

Hi tanner,
here are my savegames from the origin CBS Version 1.05.
"01" contains the last save of Nova Fora I with the tree fully equiped ships, ready for sailing to the western edge of the map.
"02" contains the start of NF II with the 3 ships beside the starting island.
Hope it will help you.

File has been upload to the Annopool ---> To the Savegames ;)

Yes, I am using Vista. I am running a profit on the overall ledger. Still I am stagnant or losing money! Thanks for the game saves, but I have no idea where to put them. There is no saved game folder in the ANNO 1503 folder. I have no idea where the games I saved are soming from.

These files are there, but they aren't visible, I don't know how to change this in Vista, because I don't have Vista

Yes, I already told you where they are, but these files are hidden in Vista.

Follow these steps to display hidden files and folders.

@Dickerbaer: It doesn't work this simple way. It's a vista-special problem.

I installed my cbs version on the notebook of my wife under vista home premium. The savegames are in C:\program files\anno 1503\Savegame\profil\..., but you can't see this folders with the windows-explorer. But you can see the folders ...\speech, scenes, data and so on, but not savegame.

I used an alternative file-manager called salamand.exe from the old win95-times, who shows after some senseless clicks this folders and allows me to copy just one time some old savegames in it, which were found by anno and can be played.

But then the vista-"user account manager" asked to use this salamand-filemanager as an "administrator", and after my acception the folders weren't visible any more!

After that I deinstalled anno and in the explorer the whole Anno 1503-folder were gone; after the new installation of anno the old savegames and my profil were already working, anno found them automatically! During deinstallation the non-origin-folders weren't deleted, but unvisible.

That means: The 2. part of your problem is the vista-own-user-management. You will need a specialist for this. Maybe we have here someone?

More Issues

Now everything has gone to hell.

The hidden file thing was good but I decided to do a reinstall for a clean slate.

I uninstalled through the windows 'installed programs list' on the control panel. After that the program never left the list. Then I deleted all konwn files by hand and still the program will not leave the list. When I use the CD to install it only lets me modify, repair, remove. I choose remove and nothing happens. I modify and it instaals the files to my windows folder! So in effect I have no way to reload the game w/ out reformatting. WTF!

Open your Windows Registry Editor and look for two Max-Design entries left behind by the CD software you uninstalled before. It's possible that there are still entries left, although the program itself has been uninstalled. Delete these entries and try to launch the game again.
