Did I translate correctly? :scratch:
We are allowed to buy and sell anything through the free traders, including food?

I am very sorry to be such a pest but Babel Fish translations can be so confusing!
Our ships can transport all goods, (whiskey,cigars,clothe,spice,cocoa,jewelry)?
We can also transport cattle & grain but NO food or flour?

Do I understand the "auto route" rules correctly?

On my pioneer island I have NO chapel
On my settler island I have NO tavern, school or doctor
On my citizen island I have NO bathhouse or large church
On my merchant island I have NO theater
On my aristocrat island I will have a palace & a cathedral

Do I understand the "public buildings" rule correctly?

Both answers are "yes"
and on the merchant islands you don´t need an university.

something I did not realize at the beginning: "full supply"

the pioneers need alkohol and cloth (made from cotton...)
the settlers need Spice and tobako
the citiziens need cocoa
and the merchants need clothes

No. Sorry

All civilisation levels must have all goods and public buildings. Only one building, what is necessary for upgrade, may absent:

Pioneers = chapel
Settlers = school
citizens = bathhouse
merchants = theater

Looks like you are right , Barbarella!

So I still have to build a tavern (settler), a big church (citiziens) and an university (merchants)

I don't know why I even bother anymore, the same thing always happens in every contest I try to play ?(

@Kateker & Bomi: Does this mean the merchants have to have jewelry as well?

@ Bomi,

OK, let's see if I understand, finally:

100 pioneers need alcohol & clothe?

252 settlers need tobacco, spice & a tavern?

510 citizens need cocoa & a large church?

1000 merchants need clothes, jewelry & a university?

I don't mean to be annoying, I just want to know the rules.

This is getting confusing. I did not build any of the buildings for the next level. Do I have to build them or are these just the buildings that are not allowed for the level.
ie Do the settlers need to have a tavern? The settlers should not have the school though.

As for the goods, a merchant will be at 36 tax rate and smiling even if he doesn't have jewelry and clothes.

The aristos would need to have the jewelry and clothes though.

By the way Terry, while working on this I saw the plague hit my settlers on the settler only island. I have a doctor on that island now. As money isn't a problem I decided to share the advanced technology.

Did you actually see the plague? I don't think I have EVER seen that before. Is it possible that you had the same problem as Barbarella?

I saw the plague! Do you think it might be because I have the largest warehouse on the island that it hit? I never had any people that were higher than settler on the island. I also have had fires on the pioneer island. My people do not get hit from the volcanos though.

Yeep, that's right - as Barbarella mentioned, you need ALL goods and buildings a specific zivilisation group needs except that building to upgrade to the next stage of zivilisation...

Do the two monuments on the left and right of the warehouse have to be touching the warehouse on the front corners or can they touch the warehouse on the field behind the front corners?

At times I also have trouble understanding English :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

This question I had some days before. Bomi wrote, the monuments should stand near the kontor house, but must not touch the kontor house. The monuments shell greet the ships. ;)

Look closely at the picture Bomi put in the openning post in this thread and you can see the monuments DO touch the kontor (warehouse).

Good catch Terry. All of my monuments are like the picture, touching the warehouse.

77

@ mama: I still need to know if they have to both touch the front corner or if the space behind that is OK.

1. No, No, No ;)

2. They don't have to touch the warehouse directly, there may be one or two tiles free space...
