Widescreen-Patch für Anno 1503 (Königsedition/GOG)

Dieser Patch ermöglicht es, Anno 1503 in Breitbild-Auflösungen zu spielen.

Unterstützte Auflösungen: 1280x800 (16:10), 1366x768 (16:9), 1400x1050 (4:3), 1440x900 (16:10), 1600x900 (16:9)

Unterstützte Versionen: Königsedition und GOG-Version. Die History Edition unterstützt Breitbild auch ohne den Patch.

Installation

• Backups von AnnoFrame.dll und Texte.dat anlegen
• dann einfach die neuen Dateien aus einem der Auflösungs-Unterordner ins Anno-Verzeichnis kopieren

In den Einstellungen muss dann die vorher gewählte Auflösung ausgewählt werden. Das Hauptmenü bleibt immer gleich klein wie früher und die neue Auflösung wird erst im Spiel sichtbar.

Es ist nicht möglich, mehrere neue Auflösungen gleichzeitig zu installieren. Die höchstmögliche Auflösung, mit der Anno zurechtkommt, ist 1600x900.

Schwarze Streifen

Die Statusleiste im Game füllt mit diesem Patch nur noch die Hälfte des Bildes (siehe Screenshot). Mit dem Statusbar-Mod kann die Leiste auf die ganze Breite vergrössert werden (braucht Amsel zum anwenden).

Achtung

Durch den Patch wird das Spiel nicht stabiler. Also: regelmässig speichern!

Es kann zu Abstürzen oder längeren Hängern kommen, wenn man ein Spiel beendet und vom Hauptmenü ein neues starten will. Es ist sicherer, nach einer Partie Anno zu beenden und neu zu starten. Das Laden während einer Partie funktioniert aber weiterhin einwandfrei.

This patch allows playing Anno 1503 in widescreen resolutions.

Supported resolutions: 1280x800 (16:10), 1366x768 (16:9), 1400x1050 (4:3), 1440x900 (16:10), 1600x900 (16:9)

Supported versions: Königsedition and GOG version. The History Edition already supports widescreen without a patch.

Installation

• create backup copies of AnnoFrame.dll and Texte.dat
• copy the files from one of the subfolders in the archive into your Anno installation folder

After replacing the files, you have to enable the selected resolution in the game settings. Note that the main menu always stays tiny (800x600). The new resolution is only applied to the actual game view.

It is not possible to install multiple widescreen resolutions at the same time. The largest resolution that Anno can handle is 1600x900.

Black spots

When the patch is activated, the in-game status bar only fills half the screen (cf. screenshot). You can use the statusbar mod to fix that (needs Amsel to apply the mod).

Warning

The patch makes an already unstable game even less stable. So make sure to save early and often.

Then quitting a game session and trying to start a new session from the main menu, the game can sometimes lag and/or crash. It is recommended to always restart the game if you want to start a new session from the main menu. Loading a save game from inside a game session is safely possible, though.
